1 Corinthians 13:13 says, “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” What a perfect “triad” to incorporate into our children’s lives.
Introducing the concept of faith in God’s incomparable love brings hope. Our children need hope more now than ever! As I mentioned in an earlier blog, the suicide rate among our teens is escalating and shows a real lack of hope in their lives.
Our children need to know they have a love from God that is unconditional and not dependent on their performance or behavior. It is not dependent on the approval of others. This kind of love fosters a feeling of being valued no matter what! Feeling valued brings hope.
Synonyms for hope are: trust, confidence, reliance, faith, assurance and security. Is this not what we pray for our children?
It is my passion that children learn they can have faith in God’s constant and unchanging love, so they can have a hope upon which they can rely when times are rough.
